NAOMI FORMAN soprano
Naomi Forman as Eurydice was the highlight of the cast that took on their over-the-top roles with relish and energy.
(DT Baker, Edmonton Journal, Orfee aux Enfers)
Among the supporting cast, Naomi Forman creates some strong moments as Giuseppe's spitfire wife Franca, most notably with her cautionary song to Clara, The Joy You Feel.
(Kevin Prokosh, Winnipeg Free Press, The Light in the Piazza)
All three singers were notable, Forman with a bright coloratura that was especially lovely in her serious arias.
(The Edmonton Sun, Amelia Goes to the Ball)
Character roles are the backbone of any Gilbert and Sullivan Opera and Ruddigore is no exception. Brandonite Naomi Forman as Mad Margaret was mesmerising, with her wild eyes and sweeping dramatic movements. While she was onstage you couldn't take your eyes off her - she has that kind of star power. Statuesque even when barefoot, she writhed on the ground producing a screech that sounded astonishingly like a seagull. And, she can sing. He duet in Act II with her new husband, Sir Despard Murgatroyd, was one of the most hilarious of the show.
(Gwenda Nemerofsky, Winnipeg Free Press, Ruddigore)
Forman demonstrated great versatility...her vocal skills and her comic timing."
(Paul Shore, Wheat City Journal, Clear Lake Chamber Music Festival)
One thing that impressed me was that Naomi was more than willing to drive in from Brandon for every rehearsal, and that, amazingly, she was never late. She was always there when you needed her, and that indicates her attitude to everything. She takes it on and she does it.
(Glen Harrison, founder, The Winnipeg Gilbert and Sullivan Society, as quoted in the Brandon Sun.)
